Who is it
xQc (real name Félix Lengyel) is a Canadian streamer and influencer born November 12, 1995 in Laval. His pseudonym was created from the last letter of his first name (x) and the abbreviation of his home province of Québec (QC). Today, he is one of the most popular online content creators in the world with more than 7.5 million followers.
Career
Lengyel first achieved recognition as a professional player of the video game Overwatch. In 2017, he joined the Dallas Fuel team that competed in the inaugural season of the Overwatch League. However, his time with the team was marred by problems - he was suspended several times and eventually released during the season. Despite this, he represented Canada at the Overwatch World Cup from 2017 to 2019, winning the Tour MVP award in 2017.
After retiring from professional esports, he turned his full attention to streaming. In February 2019, he joined the Sentinels organization as a content creator. From 2020 to 2022, he was the most watched streamer on Twitch for three consecutive years, with a huge viewership - he had 163 million hours of viewership in mid-2021. In June 2023, he signed a two-year deal worth $100 million with the Kick platform.
Lengyel is also involved in betting content and plays chess - he started playing chess in March 2020 and helped popularize the PogChamps tournament.
Trivia
Lengyel has had a controversial affair with a content creator known as Adept, who was his partner in the past and whom he often followed during his streams. Their relationship was marred by lawsuits and serious allegations from both sides.
In June 2021, he returned to Canada after experiencing several episodes of swatting - a dangerous practice in which attackers make false reports to gunmen. Lengyel expressed concern for his safety.
In October 2021, streamer income data was leaked, revealing that Lengyel has earned over $8 million since 2019. In August 2024, he attended a meeting with US President Donald Trump, who was accompanied by streamer Adin Ross.
